Eric Oxford, Ed.D.

Dr. Eric Oxford is an organizational systems leader and former Director of Student Services who specializes in designing sustainable, high-functioning student services systems.

With more than two decades of experience across teaching, leadership, and district administration, Eric brings a systems-level perspective to complex organizational challenges. He holds Massachusetts licensure as both a Special Education Administrator and School Superintendent, and earned his doctorate in Organizational Leadership — intentionally pursuing a path that emphasized organizational design, strategic decision-making, and sustainable system development across industries.

Eric’s career began in therapeutic high school settings, working with students who had been told — sometimes for years — that school wasn’t a place for them. Those early experiences shaped his belief that strong systems are not optional — they are essential. When systems are intentionally designed, students thrive. When systems drift, even the best intentions struggle to produce meaningful results.

Over time, Eric moved into district leadership roles, where he became known for building structured, sustainable systems that aligned staffing, programming, and budgets with real student needs. His work has focused on designing student services systems that are not only compliant, but functional — systems that support staff, stabilize budgets, and improve outcomes for students and families.

As the founder of Oxford Education Consultancy, Eric partners with districts and leadership teams to examine how their systems are functioning beneath the surface. Through structured system diagnostics, strategic planning, and leadership coaching, he helps organizations move from reactive problem-solving to intentional design. His work centers on five core areas: system architecture, resource alignment, service delivery integrity, leadership decision-making, and accountability systems.

In addition to his work with district leaders, Eric also supports families and parent communities by helping them better understand how education systems function. He believes that confident, informed families strengthen the entire system — and that transparency and knowledge are key to building trust between schools and communities.

Eric is the author of Safe to Learn and Don’t Run, books that challenge traditional thinking and provide practical guidance for educators navigating complex systems. His writing blends research, real-world leadership experience, and a deep commitment to doing what is right for students — even when the path forward is difficult.

Outside of his professional work, Eric is a proud husband and father who believes deeply in lifelong learning, reflection, and the responsibility to build systems that serve people — not the other way around.

His work is grounded in a simple belief:

~Strong systems create the conditions for people to succeed~
